You know the economy is bad when...

You go to your hometown and right off the highway someone has attached flashing lights to a white board sign that says "Help! No Water!" outside their house.

Stores are closing their doors, but discount chains and fast food stores are being added along with a rise in stock and profit.

Gas prices are half of what they were 3 months ago and still people can't afford it.

Hubby, Buttons and I are visiting family and we're amazed at the tangible effects of this recession in our home state. Unfortunately, I don't have any words of wisdom or humor about it, but it's on my mind. I'm hoping we reach the bottom soon so we can start swimming towards the surface. Obama has his work cut out for him, that's for sure.

How sad. It has to start looking up soon. Right?

If we get out of this economic rut, then it will be because of the hard work of everyday Americans and business leaders who actually choose to operate with responsibility. No one politician is capable of doing that, I don't care what his party affiliation happens to be.

Josh, I agree with you that no one politician is capable of getting us out of this mess no matter how good or what party affiliation she or he claim as their own. Our country certainly isn't run by one person and we all need to take responsibility and work together to get us out of this rut. However, I think any president elect coming in at this time has their work cut out for them and that was really my point.
